The Riotous Readers meet monthly discussing books that stretch your soul as well as your mind. Last month we discussed Sebastian Junger’s book War, taken from his experience of being imbedded with a single platoon at a remote outpost in eastern Afghanistan. Junger provided a view of the many emotions faced by the men in the platoon examining the honor, trust, and trust among soldiers. We had a lively and sobering discussion about the lives of those who are sent off to battle on our behalf
This month we are discussing To Say Nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis. This time travel story is both a romance and a comedy that presents some thought provoking questions. We will meet on Wednesday, February 9 at 7:30 PM in Fellowship Hall at the Church for our usual riotous discussion and refreshment fitting to the book. Copies of the book are available at the Middletown Library. For more information about how to join us, call the Church office at (732) 671-1905.
