We knew the world was getting warmer, O God, but did we have to have such a week, many of us ask. We worry and wonder about the future of our planet as our leaders seem to dawdle and diddle. Teach us to reign in our seemingly insatiable appetite for more, more, more as so many do with less, less, less.
May we not give stones for bread or snakes for fish but may we rise from our apathy and inaction to shape a world as you would have it be for all your children.
We ask this in the name of him who was an example of what you call us to be, even Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
