The bright sun of summer has brought us into its ambit and we suffer from heat and lack of rain. We know, Generous Creator, that we do not suffer as do others from drought and failed crops but such knowledge does not alleviate our despair for the short term.
You who made rain and sun, help us to use this time to learn to conserve, to see more clearly the effects of our more than luxurious lifestyles, and to work for sound environmental policies so we do not destroy the creation you have given us.
We ask this in the name of him who taught us that we are responsible for all your creation, even Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.
